Quote of the Week

All through the long winter, I dream of my garden. On the first day of spring, I dig my fingers deep into the soft earth.
I can feel its energy, and my spirits soar.

Bare Root Sale - we are busy!!

Now is the time of year when everyone at work wishes they could clone themselves to do all the tasks that need to be done. Dawn is on her computer, entering stock, printing labels, she also the 'goddess of I can be anywhere you need me at this moment' woman. Dawn also keeps us on our toes (us employees, Marianne and Amy) by keeping us up to date on what is what and where it goes or how this is done. Amazing! Even Emma is busy with stock and pricing plants.

John is busy digging trees in the field and all of 'the boys' are with him balling and burlapping trees like crazy. Some trees have to be dug in April, for instance Birch trees can only be dug in April if dug any other time of year they will die. They also are busy digging evergreens and anything else that is ready for stock. We have some lovely Northumberland grown tree stock from the Baltimore Valley farm at the store.
As well we have a large selection of bare root trees and shrubs and if you buy any tree or shrub bare root then you get a 30% discount on your purchase. We have a large selection of Acers (maples), Amelanchier (service berries), Birch, Catalpa and Lindens, lilacs, roses, plus many others specimens that we only have a few of so I will save those for when you come for the sale.
This sale will not last long as we have these trees in heeled in for now and they will be potted up shortly.
Grant has been busy getting the vegetable garden in order at the farm and I know that he drops everything when needed elsewhere at the store or when large trees are being spaded out of the field. We all have to be quick on our feet as stock is booming and blooming.
In the greenhouse we have potted up over 500 perennials, seeds have been planted are being planted and we have some wonderful things in store for you there. This page will be updated frequently so come back and I will post photo's of our beautiful stock.
